Snapshot No. 670-674
674.@Eye patterns

A "
hime-uranami-jyanome-chou" resting on a leaf of
gibousi.
At the botanical garden affliated with a nearby history museum.
This is a common species here. The eye patterns are conspicuous as in the name of "jya-no-me" (snake's eye).
This type of pattern is frequently seen in butterflies, moths, their caterpillars, and fishes as well.
There are many explanations and experiments about the effects of these patterns, including the ones hard to believe.

However, the very attitude to assume everything being created for a practical purpose is very strange.
It will be good enough to think simply that the pattern happened to be like that.
673. Mokkou-bara

Flowers covering the top of a nearby florist entrance.
Looks like white
mokkou-bara.
672. A beard daimoku

A memorial stone, at the ruin of an execution site located next town. This was built in Kansei 8th year (1796).
The 7 characters, "Namu myouhou renge kyou"
#, which Hokke sect calls
daimoku (key words to recite), are deeply engraved.
As in the photo, the writing-brush edges extend outward on purpose. The sect calls this style, "kou-myou-ten" (light bright spot).
But it is generally called "beard
daimoku" from the image of beard.
#
"Namu myouhou renge kyou" means;
To devote myself to the teachings of the Lotus Sutra.
671. It's about time to leave

Ducks at a nearby square.
Though many ducks were here until very recently, now only small number remain.
The photo shows the ones still here,
ko-gamo. The one in the middle is a male.
It is said that;
a pair of male and female is already decided by this time of year, and the pair flies together to the north,
and immediately after arriving the Siberia, eggs are layed and they raise the chicks.
Otherwise, under the short summer of the north, the chicks can not grow up strong enough to make a long distance flight by the autumn .

Even so, it is amazing that ducks with this round shape can fly long distance.
670. 7777 or 3141?
A car I happened to see at a nearby supermarket parking lot.

Its license plate number is 2718.
"
fu na hito hati futa hati"
#1, 2.71828--, base of natural logarithm / Napier's constant, e.
It is possible that the car owner purposely got this number for an extra fee.
The numbers like 5555, 7777, 8888 are seen rather frequently. For those who think these are too affectionate, the constants like e are good alternatives. For instance;
3141 (), 1414 (2), 3010 (log 2)
Yet for those who think these too obvious, 3183 or 3678 is another choice.
The former is from 1/ (0.3183--), the latter from 1/e (0.3678--).
BTW, in many instances, reciprocals can be conveniently used. For example, in calculating cable loss, instead of the usual 2.718
-𝒳, the use of 0.3679
𝒳 is simple and makes few mistakes.
Well, this ended up being worthless stuff, again.
#1
This wording is used to memorize the e number.
It literally means "crucian (carp) in a bowl, in two bowls" and sounds 2 7 1 8 2 8.
